Together with our partners from the HaptiMap project we organize the Workshop on Observing the Mobile User Experience. The workshop will explore approaches to study users and usage "in the wild". It will held in conjunction with NordiCHI 2010 which takes place on Iceland in October 16 - 20, 2010.

We are co-organizing The Second ACM SIGMM Workshop on Social Media together with Steven C.H. Hoi, Jiebo Luo, Roelof van Zwol. This workshop will form a platform for the continued discussion of the key research issues in social multimedia. The submission is open and will end on June 10. 2010.

We are organizing a workshop on Using Audio and Haptics for Delivering Spatial Information via Mobile Devices together with the HaptiMap project. The workshop will be held in conjunction with the conference MobileHCI. We will initiate a multidisciplinary discussion on how and when to present multisensory spatial information on mobile devices.

We are co-organizing the AutomotiveUI Conference 2010 in Pittburgh,USA. The 2nd International Conference on Automotive User Interfaces and Interactive Vehicular Applications will explore ways in which in-car user interfaces can be designed so as to provide a valuable service without distracting the driver. The conference will explore ways in which the devices can help improve the driver’s performance and hopefully the safety of driving. The workshop on Multimodal Location Based Techniques for Extreme Navigation will provide a forum for sharing research ideas and findings about new interaction and perceptualization metaphors, novel application contexts, multimodal and context-aware technologies for mobility -- thereby creating a solid foundation for further exploration of pervasive extreme navigation. The workshop will be held in conjunction with The Eighth International Conference on Pervasive Computing.
